Industrial Gaskets has one of the most extensive stocks of Ring Type Joint gaskets in Australia. RTJ in the Type R Oval configuration is the original ring joint design and is the only joint that can be used on the “older” round bottom groove flanges.
An RTJ oval is an original Ring Type Joint gasket design, characterized by its elliptical (oval) cross-section and used in flanges with corresponding round-bottomed grooves for high-pressure sealing applications in industries like oil, gas, and petrochemicals. It provides a metal-to-metal seal and creates a pressure-energized force for increased tightness, though the modern octagonal type is more common now for higher pressure sealing efficiency.
Style R gaskets are manufactured in accordance with both API 6A and ASME B16.20 size/ratings, all certified to API 6A through EN10204 Type 3.2. Type R Oval Ring Type Joints are interchangeable on the modern Type R Octagonal grooved flanges.
The range of available materials include 316Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Low Carbon Steel, PTFE Coated and F5 Alloy Steel. Available in ring sizes R11 through to R105.
