Vulcanised Fibre – or vulcanite – is a plate material made of compressed cotton fibre paper. It is used as an insulation material and for the manufacture of various implements.
Vulcanised Fibre has excellent mechanical and electrical properties and offers a high tear resistance and tensile strength.
Fibre Vulcanised Gasket Sheets are an economical option for making low pressure, low temp washers and gaskets.
These tough, rigid sheets are made from a combination of cellulose paper and binders and can be punched out or cut. This sort of gasket sheet has been used since the late 19th century and continues to be used today because of its’ economy.
In the thinner sizes, it is flexible and can be bent. In the thicker sizes, it can be shaped with the aid of steam and pressure. The electrical properties are for example a high insulation value. Available in Red or Black
