The Spiral Wound “SWG” Style CG consists of a centering ring with a windings (sealing element), typically a Carbon Steel outer ring with 316SSL Windings and a Graphite Filler.
An integral centering ring (Outer or Guide ring) assures fast, accurate centering of the gasket on the flange. It also acts as a compression limiter to prevent over compression of the winding (or sealing face) of the gasket.
Used mainly on Raised Face flanges the Spiral Wound Gasket – CG is suitable for General Duties.
Materials commonly used on Spiral Wound Gasket – CG are Mild or Carbon Steel, 316 Stainless Steel and 304 Stainless Steel.
Other materials include Titanium, Monel, Hastalloy, 321 and 320 Stainless Steel Nickel.
Stocks of Style CR are held from 15mm through to 750mm in standard flange sizes #150 (ANSI 150) to #900 (ANSI 900).
